Enrollment

Application For Admission

The FAA has certain prerequisite requirements for the issuance of pilot certificates.  These course requirements are as accurate as possible, but certain information may be updated as necessary.  Student's needs and interests, as well as other circumstances may prompt changes in course content, fees, rules, curriculum requirements and other matters.  Changes duly authorized may apply both to new students and to those previously enrolled, unless otherwise specified.

Enrollment and Student Visa Requirements

U S Flight Academy has an open door policy.  This policy states that any student who is reasonably capable of operating its aircraft as the aircraft are currently equipped, may attend after completing an application for admission.  No aptitude test is required. We will, upon request, mail you a copy of the last three USFA graduates' names and addresses as references, and you can verify our claims.

Admissions forms may be obtained from the Administration Office or you may fill out the electronic USFA Admission Form A-1e.

An Enrollment Agreement shall be executed by each student and an authorized representative of U S Flight Academy prior to the beginning of that student's training.

The student is required to read the following school literature: Operations and Procedural Manual, Flight Department Safety Rules, and Student Conduct Policy.

Equal Opportunity Policy: U S Flight Academy does not discriminate against anyone due to race, age, sex, creed, or national origin.

When you are accepted and an admission date is agreed upon, a security deposit must be made to the Academy before issuance of a Student Visa Form and/or placement on our waiting list.  Payment of this deposit signifies an acceptance of the admission and holds a space for you.  Upon arrival this deposit will be credited to your account.  The remaining amount for the course is due upon arrival or as arranged with the Academy.

We will notify you of an admission date on Form A-2.  Please return the Form A-2 with the required security deposit.  This form must be returned to the Academy verifying your acceptance of the training proposal.

Guidelines for General Enrollment
When you have decided to allow U. S. Flight Academy to conduct your flight training, please proceed via the following steps (If Non U.S. Citizen candidate skip Step 3):

Step 1: Complete the Application for Admission, Form A1e ,and submit.
This form will be retrieved by our administration office, and a response will be executed to your e-mail within 3 business days with our Form A2.  If requesting a M-1 Visa our Form A3 will also be included.

Step 2: Upon receipt of our Form A2 and Form A3 as applicable, complete as appropriate and comply with instructions, including regarding the refundable security deposit.  Payment of this deposit signifies acceptance of admission and holds a space for you.  Upon physical enrollment this deposit will be credited to your account.  Return via e-mail the Form A2, and Form A3 if applicable, to our administration office (administrator@usflightacademy.org).  U.S. Flight Academy will then issue a receipt for the security deposit received and a Letter Of Acceptance (LOA), via e-mail to the candidate.  If applicable a M-1 Visa will be issued.

Step 3: U.S. Citizens candidates must provide proof of citizenship in order to attend pilot training.  The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will not allow flight training to commence without proof of U.S. Citizenship in the form of the following documents:

a) A valid, un-expired United States passport. The passport must remain valid throughout the entire length of the training course.
b) An original birth certificate, with raised seal, documenting birth in the United States or one of its territories, along with a valid un-expired government issued photo I.D. (such as a drivers license).
c) An original U. S. naturalization certificate with raised seal (Form N-550 or Form N-570), along with a valid un-expired government issued photo I.D. (such as a drivers license).
d) An original certificate of U.S. Citizenship (Form N-560 or N-561) or a certificate of repatriation (Form N-581) along with a valid un-expired government issued photo I.D. (such as a drivers license).
e) A U.S. federal government issued I.D. badge if training for the U.S. government and and a U.S. government entity is paying for the training.

Upon inspection a copy of the appropriate document and picture I.D. will be secured in the candidates administrative folder.

Step 4: Non-U.S. Citizens candidates will need to submit the flight training request and information via the Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP) website http://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov.  Training requests may be submitted under one of four categories: Flight training candidates in Categories 1 through 3 require an account to access the AFSP website by completing the account request form.  U.S. Flight Academy provides training per category 3.  A user I.D. and password are e-mailed to the flight training candidate.  This will allow the candidate to access the AFSP website.  Upon submission of the completed TSA training request form, the request will be submitted to the U.S. Flight Academy, to verify that the applicant is truly seeking flight training at our facility.
NOTE: IT IS THEREFORE RECOMMENDED THAT THE CANDIDATE FOLLOWS THE ABOVE STEPS IN THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS, BY CONTACTING U.S. FLIGHT ACADEMY TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT FOR TRAINING PRIOR TO SUBMISSION OF THE COMPLETED TSA TRAINING REQUEST FORM.  DELAYS IN APPROVAL WILL OCCUR IF U.S. FLIGHT ACADEMY IS NOT AWARE OF THE CANDIDATE'S PLANS.
Upon acknowledgment of the candidate's request for flight training by U.S. Flight Academy, the candidate will be notified by AFSP and directed to pay the $130.00 USD processing fee.  After payment the AFSP reviews the request and commences an initial screening, and the candidate and U.S. Flight Academy will be notified of a preliminary decision on the training request.  The flight training candidate must complete a training request for each course or instance of training he/she wishes to attend, even if the training is with the same flight training provider.  If the preliminary decision is favorable the candidate will be provided instructions on how to submit fingerprints,
NOTE: CATEGORY 3 APPLICANTS MAY OBTAIN FINGERPRINTS UPON THEIR ARRIVAL TO U.S. FLIGHT ACADEMY.

established ties to the home country.
NOTE: LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENTS (LPR's) OF THE UNITED STATES DO NOT REQUIRE A VISA.
Upon arrival to U.S. Flight Academy and prior to receiving Final Approval, the candidate will obtain fingerprints and be photographed.
NOTE: THE FINGERPRINT PROCESS TAKES PLACE AFTER THE CANDIDATE HAS SUBMITTED ALL OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR EACH TRAINING REQUEST.
The AFSP will then notify the candidate and U.S. Flight Academy of Final Approval.
